Welcome to my Studio!

Pamela Hudson (née Stearns) was born in Olds, Alberta and grew up in Calgary. She developed a love of art at a young age, when she began drawing sitting portraits of family members during family reunions and gatherings. She continued to draw, paint, and "make things" throughout her childhood and adolescence.

After graduating from James Fowler High School, Hudson attended the Foothills Hospital School of Nursing and began working as an emergency room nurse. She also started taking courses in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the University of Calgary, but she eventually decided to pursue art professionally as a self-taught artist.

Following a move to Vancouver, Pam combined her careers, illustrating silk screen designs, wall murals, custom name badge pins and logos related to her skills in health care and opened a small screen printing/textile painting company .

In 1989, Pam moved into Parker Street Studios, where she has continued to work as a painter, illustrator and mixed media artist. Her work at 1000 Parker Street includes; still life, abstracts, figurative paintings, pet portrait commissions and cartoon series development.

Hudson's work is characterized by its vibrant colours, bold lines, and playful sense of humour. She is inspired by a wide range of sources, including her own experiences, nature, and popular culture. Her work is sure to continue to delight and inspire viewers for years to come.

Pam currently works in studio 328 with her daughter Melissa, a jeweller (House of Hudson), and mixed media artist Klee Larsen.

Works can be viewed/purchased by appointment at the studio, annually at the Eastside Culture Crawl and various exhibitions throughout the year.
